About Us

History

Started in April, 1996 and located in Montrose, Colorado, the Black Canyon Classics became reality when 25 auto aficionados met at River Bottom Park and decided to form a club. The club started holding regular meetings to acquaint members with each other and to schedule picnics, cruises, parades, the annual car show and other events.

In April, 2007 the club began charging annual family dues to pay for the website, newsletter and other expenses of operating the club. The club officers, whose terms run from April 1st to March 31st, include President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. In addition, Coordinators are appointed to oversee specific club functions such as the Car Show, Carboys & Engines Newsletter, Historians, Public Relations / Events, Scholarship Fund and Web Master. Club meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month.

Currently, the club has over 100 member families. The membership area includes the western slope of Colorado and even a few members from the front range.

The club’s year round activities include Friday night cruises, participation in club events and other car shows and events as well as a club Holiday party.

So from its humblest beginnings in 1996 the Black Canyon Classics Car Club can be proud that it has given its members a reason to be out on the streets as well as a sense of civic pride for its continuing contributions to the community.
